GARNATXA RED
Harvest: 2002
Variety: 100% Garnatxa Roja
Alcohol content: 15º
Production: 10000 bottles of 50 cl.
Elaboration: The must is obtained after the processes of maceration and draining. A slight quantity of alcohol is added at the beginning of fermentation so that natural sugars remain in the wine and also to enhance the grape aromas and those provided by fermentation. It is then stored in tanks for 2 or 3 years until it harmonizes its flavours acquiring a slight oxidation. Noticeable are the tears this wine produces.
Tasting notes: Orange coloration with golden edges. To the nose, pleasant, sweet aroma of cooked apples. Intense sweet palate tasting like creamy jam with hints of tea, honey citric acids and spices. It combines especially well with bakery desserts, bunyols, dry fruit, etc.
Production area: The vines are part of the seal of quality D.O. ‘EMPORDÀ’. They are located on the high part of the Ampurdan plain, on the range foot, creeping up the hills and spurs of Serra de la Baga de Ferran and at the beginning of Serra de l’Albera.
